Return from Lockdown

Hi All

We hope you are all well and looking forward to taking to the court again.

As we’re sure you are all aware the government has said organised outdoor sports can commence again at the end of March, so with this in mind, and so long as government guidance doesn’t change, we will be restarting training week commencing 29TH March:

Tuesday Evening 6.30-8pm at Kings Head Gardens – Junior Development
Thursday Evening 6.30-8pm/8-9.30pm at Kings Head Gardens– Senior Training (1st session A&B teams/2nd session C&D teams)
Saturday U12 9.45-11.15 and U15 11.15-12.45 – Junior Training at Thetford grammar

Obviously payments have been put on hold whilst we have been in lockdown and the majority of players are in credit so please don’t reinstate Standing Orders until you hear from us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again very soon.

National Lockdown

Hi All

Following Boris’s statement earlier this evening placing us all in a national lockdown, unfortunately training is now cancelled for both seniors and juniors until we hear otherwise, probably until at least mid February.

We will keep you updated with a return date as soon as we can.

Take care and stay safe.

TRAINING 2021

TRAINING.

Hi Everyone

We hope you have all had a good Christmas.

As I’m sure you are all aware, we are now in Tier 4, which unfortunately means no training for seniors for the time being.

Outdoor grassroots sport is still allowed for U18s so we will continue to hold sessions on a Saturday for U12 & U13-15 groups, and on a Tuesday for development. Sessions recommence next week, Tuesday 5th January.

We will also hold a session on Thursdays for U18’s that currently train in senior groups (time to be confirmed).

We completely understand that some parents may not wish their child to take part at the current time; if that is the case we would be grateful if you could reply to this email to let us know.

We will continue to follow guidance from the government and EN and will keep you up to date with any information as we receive it.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and hoping we can return to normal as soon as possible.

Thetford Netball Club

Did you know?

Thetford Netball Club was established in the 1970’s and has grown significantly over the years.
The Club holds the Silver Caps award and is embedded in a friendly community of players, coaches and umpires. Training and coaching children from as young as 8 years old, this allows the club to have 7 junior teams, who then progress to perform in our 4 adult teams. The size of our club allows us to play and compete across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, winning various competitions and leagues at every level.

Lockdown2 Announcement

Dear All

I’m sure you will have already realised, but just to confirm, netball training will cease again as of Thursday due to the Government’s recent announcement regarding another lockdown. This means there will be no more training until at least 3rd December for Seniors and 5th December for Juniors. This could be extended pending government advice, but we will keep you informed of any updates.

Just to be clear, junior training will be on as normal tomorrow evening but there will be no senior training this week.

We will be back at training as soon as we possibly can but whilst in lockdown keep your eyes peeled for the ‘Virtual Netball Club’ emails from England Netball with fitness ideas/sessions etc. All members of England netball should be receiving these emails.

Also, keep an eye on your emails over the next couple of weeks for the next Club Newsletter, currently being produced by Katie Clay and Katie Fuller.

Take care and stay safe everyone.
Best wishes

29th Oct 2020 – Round 1 of Team C Cup

What a fantastic night of netball. There was such a great feeling of camaraderie and it was so good to see the whole Club coming together.
It was also very reassuring to see that lock down has not impacted on the competitive spirit that all netballers have.??
Everyone played hard and the quarter/half time team talks looked very intense. There was certainly a lot of encouragement and motivation going on, which was great to see and hear.
Watching the matches has given me some indication of what individuals need to work on, as well as highlighting that some of us still lack a bit of fitness!!!!??
Many thanks to all of the parents that were there to help in so many different capacities.
Also massive thanks to the players that umpired as well as playing.
Alison Beale has updated the league table and it will be put onto the Club’s website. I cannot wait until the next round and will be there with my vinegar and scrubbing brush??
